“Women Empowerment” by Lucija Straley, Deputy Head of the Public Relations office at the U.S. Embassy Tirana who shared with the University of New York Tirana her personal experience.

Education – especially professional and technical education – is also likely to enhance women’s economic independence by equipping them with the skills necessary to take up paid employment opportunities.

“Gender equality is seeing males and females as being of equal status and value. It is judging a person based on their merit, and not viewing them as inferior or superior purely based on their gender.”

This is one of the reasons that the U.S Embassy has implemented in different cities in Albania the “Empowerment corner” where women can take information regarding different topics.
