The Second International e-Conference on Social and Applied Sciences, organized by the European and Balkan Research Institute of the University of New York Tirana was held on May 20th, 2021. At this conference participated many scholars from countries all over the world such as United Kingdom, Belgium, Turkey, Romania, Croatia, Italy, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Ethiopia. The conference was divided into 5 plenary sessions: Computer Science, Economics and Business, Law, Education, and Politics. In total, 49 participants presented their research work to this conference.<\/p>\n
We were honored with the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Emre Bilgili, General Director of Higher and Overseas Educationand Ms. Orkide Deniz Akyama\u00e7, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Turkey in Tirana, Charge D’Affairs a.i.<\/p>\n
In his greeting speech, Prof. Dr. Bilgili expressed unconditional support to UNYT for this initiative by stating that the main goal of the Turkish Maarif Foundation is to further develop the academic standards through such initiatives and improve the quality of education based on human values.<\/p>\n
Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Turkey, Ms. Akyama\u00e7 was pleased and expressed her appreciation for the organization of this conference and the initiatives by UNYT under the European and Balkan Research Institute during this difficult time.<\/p>\n
We were pleased to hear the thoughtful insights of two distinguished keynote speakers H.E. Dr. Carlos Garc\u00eda de Alba, Ambassador, Embassy of Mexico to Italy, concurrent in Albania, Malta, and San Marino and Ms. Bilgen Aldan CEO, Albtelecom.
\nAmbassador de Alba in his speech emphasized the importance of strengthening the collaboration to further promote the bilateral relationship between Albania and Mexico. We must direct our attention to find solutions for the challenges and opportunities that innovation and creativity bring, as they are key factors to the transformation of the world. Meanwhile, Ms. Bilkent in her speech highlighted the effect of the pandemic situation in the country which according to her, served as a catalysator to the digitalization process. There are always opportunities and great challenges in times of chaos.
