The University of New York Tirana was honored today with the presence of Prof. Dr. Birol Akg\u00fcn, President of the Maarif Foundation and the Maarif International Schools.<\/p>\n
In part of his speech he stated:<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very happy to be here. Your leadership, inspiration and your success are our hope for the future. At the Maarif Foundation and with your commitment, we expect our students to be the leaders in education by offering commitment, experience and high quality. Improving the quality of education is at the heart of our international effort to achieve excellence.<\/p>\n
We are following every process with the Albanian Ministry of Education, and with our partners in the United States who also visited us in Istanbul. We want to expand the opportunities especially with Turkish universities, having a very good reputation in education. Over 100,000 international students study in Turkey, signaling the country\u2019s growing importance as a higher education destination. We are committed to new opportunities especially with Erasmus +, by aiming to increase the student exchange and mobility.<\/p>\n
Maarif Foundation is committed to education and will continue to offer a high quality education. We are the pioneers of an educational institution nurturing pure-minded people who use knowledge for peace and the welfare of humanity.<\/p>\n
We are following day by day the success of our student.<\/p>\n
I am very thankful for the hard work and the success of graduate students. In our hearts, our students are our champions. With other private institutions we are the leaders, but we still have a lot of work to do. I am thankful to the Rector and to Prof. Ismail Kocayusufoglu”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Prof. Dr. Birol Akg\u00fcn presented special recognitions to the Moot Court UNYT Team by honoring them with a certificate of appreciation.<\/p>\n
After the Conference, some students invited Prof. Dr. Birol Akg\u00fcn to give a lecture for them in one of the classes of International Relations. He mentioned in front of the students that he wasn\u2019t prepared to give a lecture today but couldn\u2019t say no. He started his lecture with a background on what is happening in the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf one day you want to be academic, you must be prepared for the hard work\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
But this wasn\u2019t the end of the meeting.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you for coming here today, it means a lot for us. We feel honored to be here today. Your words will make us work harder. Maarif Foundation has been a great help for us. It helps us become better human beings, better scholars. We are very positive that Maarif foundation will give the necessary impulse to this tradition of leaders. We believe that with Maarif we will be the leading educational Institution in the East European circle. This is the beginning of new success stories to come and a place where education will thrive\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
