“Understanding and Commemorating Mehmet Akif Ersoy” event

In an esteemed gathering at Haxhi Zeka University in Peja, a significant event titled “Understanding and Commemorating Mehmet Akif Ersoy” was organized by the Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) in Kosovo. This assembly was dedicated to honoring the legacy of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the illustrious poet behind the Turkish National Anthem.

The ceremony was graced with the presence of distinguished figures including the TMF Board Member, Mr. Ahmet Türkben; Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Kosovo, Mr. Sabri Tunç Angılı; the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Prizren, Mr. Celal Dogan; and the Vice-Rector of Haxhi Zeka University, Mrs. Alma Shehu Lokaj. Esteemed representatives of Turkish institutions in Kosovo, alongside other notable guests, also contributed to the solemnity of the occasion.

We are particularly proud to announce the participation of our esteemed Prof. Dr. Cihan Özdemir, who was featured in the panel discussion, sharing profound insights into the life and works of Mehmet Akif Ersoy. This event commemorated a pivotal figure in Turkish literary history and fostered academic dialogue and cultural exchange between Turkey and Kosovo.
