Meet Genta Krasniqi, Manager at the Bank of America
Genta graduated from the University of New York Tirana with a degree in Marketing. She is an Entrepreneur, developed COBBEE- a coffee start-up based in San Francisco/ California. Genta also co-founded a Pet startup in London, UK, and was the marketing director of Segafredo Zanetti where she developed and managed several campaigns, conducted research, built brand awareness, and created content for social media. She is currently a branch manager at the Bank of America in Boston in Coolidge corner financial center.
Reasons choosing UNYT – when I graduated high school I had no doubt in my mind that I would study at UNYT. I had the full conviction that I would gain high-class education and use it as a stepping stone for my career goals and dreams.
How did UNYT prepare you for your career? UNYT was an oasis of inspiration and motivation which boosted my ambitions for the future. This university not only provided me with knowledge but with excellent connections which are essential throughout life. It also changed my perspective, perceptions and shaped person I am today.
What advice did you have for students who want to go into the financial sector? I would definitely advice anyone not to rush into their choices- during the first year at UNYT you will attend general education courses which help to shape what you truly want or excel at. TAKE YOUR TIME as you would be surprised that often in life you will end up liking something you never thought of. I would also kindly suggest to anyone choosing Marketing to see the bigger picture of it and the endless opportunities it might present for your future.
What is the difference between marketing and advertising? You have to view marketing as the “A” of the business- marketing is THE product itself (the core of a company) along with its design, the price, and the main features. The BUSINESS STRATEGY which is the engine of a company is designed by my marketers and entrepreneurs. Advertising in a very small part of marketing which requires its own specialization. NEVER CONFUSE MARKETING WITH ADVERTISING. KEEP IN MIND: to found a successful business you need 3 people: marketing, finance and IT expert
